“The Sharm British School PTA is committed to promote and support the school and to bring together friends and families of the school.” The PTA strives to provide opportunities for the school community to liaise on an informal and social basis. We foster good relations and harmony in and around the school. We raise funds to provide additional equipment to enhance the opportunities available to our children. This will be especially important this year as we build our new school. In the past, the PTA has organised many social events for parents and children throughout the school year, and we will continue to do so. The joint PTA co-ordinators for the remainder of the 2010/2011 school year are Valentina Verbenko and Kanokwan Smith. The staff representative, Dorian Manning, will attend the meetings whenever possible, share the information with the staff and help organise staff involvement in events as necessary. Committee members attend PTA meetings throughout the year (usually held once a month during school hours), plus sub-committee meetings. Committee members work as a team, organising social events. You don’t need any special skills or previous experience to contribute to the PTA , just lots of enthusiasm and some spare time. If you have ideas for social events, like planning, organising and participating in fun events for parents and children, then why not join us? It is a great way to meet other parents and make new friends. With your help, we can continue to work towards our goal to promote collaboration between our children, parents, the school and the community at large. All parents are always welcome to attend any of the meetings.
